Jeri in Jan report

After the unusual vacuum of 2016, this year Jeri was back to its gloriously windy self giving us 9 out of 9 fully planing days with waves. The only disappointment was that everyone was too knackered to do an early morning or late evening SUP session!

The team of 12 comprised no less than 5 nationalities including a Swede and 2 Aussie brother twins Scot and Neil who had made the trip all the way from Canberra.

The thing I dread on clinics are gradually deteriorating conditions – you get  say 2 or 3 blisteringly good days at the beginning when everyone is too jet-lagged to make use of them, and then it gradually gets less and less exciting. Happily it was the other way round – the winds starting moderate, perfect from some tacks and transition practice, building up to solid force 5-6  whereupon the learner loopers and jumpers could take centre stage. And by the end of the week, the big wind also corresponded with low to mid tide when the waves are best.

Club Ventos has undergone a bit of face lift with lots of new boards – still majoring on JP and Starboard, as well as extra bar and a new lay out. And Puntra Pedra, the pousada next door where most of us stay, is as friendly and welcoming and ever – and there is no guest house in the world with a better position or view Check out the highlights on:https://youtu.be/UkXzqi85jPE
