PWA Aloha Classic Maui – Ingrid Larouche 3rd!

Ho’okipa delivered the goods again for the PWA Aloha Classic on Maui – geat wave conditions day after day during the contest period.

Although the women’s fleet did not enjoy the huge waves all the time! It was Ingrid Larouche from Fanatic USA who finished 2nd in the Single Elimination sailing through the pain barrier. In the Double Elimination she could maintain her performance and positioned herself in 3rd  for the event! Also well done to Nayra Alonso for finishing 6th. Nayra had her competing comeback after having a break taking care of her two little kids, which came along to Maui with her.

In the men´s fleet Klaas Voget was showing some unreal wave action in almost double mast sets, crazy action, long swims, heavy go-downs – awesome to watch! Victor Fernandez was for sure the rider with the most pressure on him. He was not only fighting for the Aloha Classic title but for the PWA Wave World title as well. Victor was sailing outstanding in the Double Elimination yesterday beating a lot of very good Maui sailors. Unfortunately Levi Siver was in top shape too in his last heat and this was the heat which stopped him. Victor is now officially PWA Vice World Champ as this was the last event of the tour. Well done there Victor!
