A stunning last PWA wave event of the season comes to an end and North rider Victor Fernandez was on fire in the double elimination. After an early exit in the single elimination Victor had a monster task to absolve in the double to fight back. Eventhough is only rival for the PWA wave world title, Philipp Köster finished only on 33rd place at this 2015 Aloha Classic, Victor had to win the event to take the overall crown.
So Victor was starting his engines and showed propably the best Hookipa performance of his life with incredible moves like an forward off the lip and sick Wave 360ies. On his way through the heats Victor was even beating Maui locals and legends like e.g. Robby Naish, Kai Lenny, Brawzinho and Campello. Heat 45 saw Victor not advancing by only a hair with 0,14 points against one of the best locals Levi Siver. Who knows what would have happened if he had a bit more luck in this heat. For sure a great achievement for Victor by winning 6 heats in the double elimination, finishing the event on 6th and rewarding himself with the PWA wave vice world championship title. Big congratulations Victor! This season showed again, that Victor is one of the most complete wave sailors on the tour being on top in both jumping and down the line wave riding conditions, portack and starboard tack.
At the ladies fleet North rider Ingrid Larouche finished on the podium on 3rd sailing her heats with a broken foot. So big respect to Ingrid and to her great performanc which boosts her on a great 5th place in the final PWA overall wave ranking in front of North rider Alice Arutkin on 6th overall.
