It was a battle of the sisters. Iballa and Daida Morena fought for the world title in the challenging ramps of MauiĀ but, this time, Iballa went for a huge aerial that would seal the deal in the final.
"I found the big section I had been looking for my big aerial, which I think was missing from previous heats, and I think that made the difference," explained Iballa Moreno.
"To be honest I didn't even know the ranking situation coming into today, but I'm obviously delighted with the outcome. I was already really happy about being in the top two at the Aloha Classic. It's already a dream come true for me."
Iballa Ruano Moreno was born in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain, in 1997. She has collected three PWA Wave World titles (2006, 2012 and 2014).
Alice Arutkin - with fluid riding and full commitment - was able to climb to third overall in the world rankings, claiming her place on the prestigious podium for the first time in her career.
