Local kids having fun in Peru Windsurfing
Diony recently returned from Peru where he was able to spend some time helping local kids try windsurfing for the first time:

"Throughout my stay in Peru one of my main focuses was to find young talent and help them get on a windsurf board for the first time.

It is definitely not a hard place to learn because of it's conditions, waves and wind are beyond amazing and beaches to yet be discovered! Unfortunately the lack of infrastructure, windsurf centers and funding the local kids that do not have much opportunity, we hope to have started a positive progress even it is only starting slowly!

The Peruvian Windsurf Association has shown great interest in helping these kids during my stay! They helped me with the organization and gave me a rescue dingy for emergency which I used a lot since most of the kids didn't listen to me at all times and sailed far off into the deeper water with no fear what so ever! I was so amazed how these local talents got up and going there first 30 minutes ever on the water and 3 of the most talented kids did jibes!

What grabbed attention most was that you could see in their expression that they were having the time of their lives! Just by seeing them fully stoked made my complete trip.

I met these kids right when I stepped down from the car in Paracas bay and saw 2 kids selling ice cream on this special bike, they were very poor and could not go home before selling some ice cream together with his brother! So I told them lets make a deal, I will buy some ice cream and will teach you guys how to windsurf, I told them also to find some friends, total we ended up teaching 9 kids together with my good friend Oscar Cisneros and another local rider that helped us! we also visited some local schools on how they can become a professional athlete."

Great work Diony, it is always great to see more kids getting on the water...
