2013 Baltic Cup laupäev

Today, on 29th of June Tallinn, Pirita held the second competition day. First half of the day and afternoon wind speed was enough strong only for Race board and Techno 293 windsurfing classes. Formula windsurfing class and kite surfers waited patiently wind to get stronger. However, at 19 o`clock in the evening Formula class (with 48 participants) and Kite Race went to see for 3 races at least.

Convinced that there will not be enough wind for Formula, first starting signals was given to Techno 293 and Race board. From Techno 293 class stood out Mariam Sekhposyan (RUS 13). On the very first day she won 2 races but did 1 false start and remained on 8th position. However, today the Russian resulted in a first place in all 3 races and also in the current calculation. Estonian Keith Järve (EST 257) took 2-nd place and Latvian Ketija Birzule (LAT 151) 3-rd place.

Race board competition was for the second consecutive day now, triumphed by Latvians. Vita Matise (LAT 1) increased the lead over the second-Ilona Grinberga (LAT 18) and 3-rd Gunars Rozenbergs (LAT 14). Best Estonian in Race board class got 6th place, Kristjan Rotenberg (EST 75).

Formula class riders waited for proper wind until 19:30 pm. Even before the warning signal went off, Pirita Surf Club yard avid windsurfing equipment preparation, as they waited suitable winds already for two days now. For a moment, when the judges measured the wind speed about 8 knots, start was given to both Formula and Kite Race.
