Blanca Alabau rises in the chaos

In winds gusting over 30 knots and a final day nobody could have predicted, Blanca Alabau delivered one of the standout performances of the season. While the world title fight fell apart around her, she stayed locked in and laser focused. She was fearless in the gusts, confident in the carnage and absolutely flying down the reaches.

When the pressure peaked in the final elimination, Blanca went rail-to-rail with Lina Eržen. Just when it looked like the race might slip away, Eržen crashed on the penultimate reach and Alabau seized the moment, charging through the chaos to take the bullet, the event win and her return to the top step for the first time since 2023.

Her speed and determination lifted her to second overall in the world rankings, ending the season on an incredible high.

Blanca Alabau, the 2025 Japan World Cup Winner.
