Sotavento, Fuerteventura, has built a reputation over the years of being able to test the mettle of the worlds finest sailors, and sure enough, it did exactly that on the opening day of the 2025 Fuerteventura PWA Grand Slam to provide them with a baptism of fire - consisting of winds in excess of 40 knots and some incredibly choppy waters to try and negotiate at mach speed, and its safe to say the death chop claimed more than its fair share of victims...
