Filmed and produced by 1080 Media TV during the Fuerteventura PWA Grand Slam earlier this year, MAXXING IT! has been nominated for the prestigious Sportel Awards in Monaco, in the 'Slow Motion' category.
Only 3 of the many submissions received from around the broadcast world are nominated in each category. The video shows the raw emotion, skill and the incredible power of the freestyle competition at the 2023 Fuerteventura PWA Grand Slam in the Canary islands. Sarah-Quita Offringa (Starboard / NeilPryde / Maui Ultra Fins) from Aruba, rose to the occasion once again, capturing her 14th Freestyle world title, while Yentel Caers (JP / NeilPryde) from Belgium scored his first victory on the World Tour. Both of whom feature in the video, which you can see @ https://youtu.be/F1UhHLL14og?si=t5ISLdQuKX_4vpGE
Cliff Webb, 1080 Media TV: “We are excited to be nominated for this prestigious award, and delighted to be bringing the PWA World Tour to the forefront of the broadcast world, where we can showcase the sport to an even broader audience.”
Further 1080 Media TV statement:
“Delighted to announce that we have been nominated for the famous Sportel Awards in Monaco, in the 'Slow Motion' category, for our short video called 'Maxxing it’.
Other nominees across the various categories include France Televisions, Fox Sports, Canal+, Sky Creative, and the Olympic Channel among others, so we're in pretty good company. The awards take place in Monaco on October 23rd, and will be broadcast live on TV Monaco and online.
Well done to our team covering the event, Johan Flybring, Josh Flowers, Floris Tils, Sander Jorna, Colby Stanley, Lars Wichmann, and with a beautiful edit by Adrien Dupagne.
Woohoo!
