Event 3 of the Scottish Team 15 Interclub Series seen our clubs gather at the iconic location of South Queensferry to use the facilities of Port Edgar Watersports the home of the Pirates. As this was the first time the Pirates have hosted an event everyone was excited to come down for some hi-jinx on the high seas. Unfortunately, our usually format had to be altered due to a yellow weather warning that was issued, so training on the Saturday was cancelled. This did not deter our competitors on the Sunday, with lots of sailors turning up ready to experience racing in the very tidal waters of the Firth of Forth.
The Event was arranged to have an Alpha course operating in Queensferry Bay and a Bravo course operating within the harbour. This changed quickly with our Grom fleet having a very strong word with our race officer (me) signalling that they would be on Alpha Course and will “Show these 6.8’s how its really done.” Testament to the work Team15 clubs have been putting in this year.
With everyone on the same course and we managed to get 4 races in over the day and finished with an epic blasting session up the forth rail bridge and back to Port Edgar. Everyone performed great and gained an experience they will never forget.
