18-year-old Baptiste Cloarec (Severne / Severne Sails) is one of the most promising, young emerging talents on the wave scene. The Frenchman really caught the eye in Tenerife last summer during the Tenerife PWA Youth World Cup where he earned 3rd place behind Valentino Pasquale (Fanatic / Duotone) and eventual winner Noah Vocker (Fanatic / Duotone / Maui Ultra Fins).

Cloarec is currently in Cape Town, South Africa, studying and sailing and the other day he scored some epic, if a little daunting conditions at Platboom. Luckily, Tom Deburchgrave was on hand to capture some of the best of the action and it’s well worth a watch.
