Multivan DWC (German Windsurf Cup) – Zinnowitz; 22.-24.06.2018

Hello everybody,

For the first time the Multivan Windsurfcup took place in Zinnowitz on the island of Usedom.6 (!) slalom eliminations and 1 racing elimination within three days made it a really exhausting competition.

Everybody who followed the livestream saw that the slalom races were super tight and exciting. There were practically no speed differences amongst the top-3 riders. None of us made mistakes in the jibes – but when they did, I took my chance and won the race. In the other races, however, my average starts prevented to take the lead.

In foiling, 4 races were started but three of them got canceled due to too little wind. I led all races and won the scored race with a 1m 35sec lead. I think my equipment is better than “only competitive”.

In the end, I’m very happy about my victory Overall & in Racing (Hydrofoiling) and my third place in Slalom.

Zum ersten Mal fand der Multivan Windsurfcup in Zinnowitz auf der Insel Usedom statt. Mit 6 (!)Slalom Eliminations und 1 Racing Elimination innerhalb von drei Tagen war es ein wirklich anstrengender Wettkampf.

Wer den Livestream verfolgt hat, konnte sehen, dass die Slalomrennen super eng und spannend waren. Es gab praktisch keine Speed-Unterschiede unter den Top-3. Niemand machte Fehler in den Halsen und wenn, dann konnte ich meine Chance nutzen und das Rennen gewinnen. In den anderen Rennen musste ich allerdings immer beim Start „den kürzeren ziehen“.

Im Foiling wurden insgesamt 4 Rennen gestartet, aber drei davon aufgrund von zu wenig Wind abgebrochen. Ich habe alle Rennen angeführt und das gewertete Rennen konnte ich mit 1min 35sek Vorsprung gewinnen. Da habe ich wohl mehr als “nur konkurrenzfähiges” Material…

Am Ende freue ich mich über einen Sieg Overall und im Racing (Hydrofoiling) und über einen dritten Platz im Slalom!
