NorthSails Team Talk

The 2018 season is about to start. Who will represent NorthSails? Time for a quick overview of your international WarpBoyZ, SuperHeroes and Idols Team, who rewarded last years’ work with the PWA constructors title 2017, by achieving the best PWA overall result with NorthSails. Let’s begin with our slalom sailors, the famous WarpBoyZ, namely Pierre Mortefon (F-14), Marco Lang (AUT-66), Jordy Vonk (NED-69), newcomer Malte Reuscher (GER-777) and Vincent Langer (GER-1). The last season sets a high benchmark: Pierre, Marco and Jordy made it into the TOP 11, with an amazing first place in Sylt for Marco and an overall 3rd place for Pierre. His sister Marion Mortefon (FRA-118) took the same position in the PWA women’s ranking. The goal for the 2018 season will be to beat last years’ success. Pierre clearly goes for the world title, while Marion, Marco, Jordy and Malte fight for TOP 10 positions and podium places. Vincent will defend his Formula World Champion and German Champion Title and get back the IFCA Slalom Title, which he won twice already. With the Vincent Langer Kids Camps he brings the passion for windsurfing to the next generation.Gollito Estredo (V-10). 8-times PWA Freestyle World Champion. His goal? – Nothing but the title. This season he even goes further by sailing more events on the wave tour as well. His brilliant sail control and fearless jumping make him stand out not only as the king of freestyle who plays in the waves but as a remarkable competitor, who will definitely cause some problems for the established seeds in the wave competition. Arrianne Aukes tries to mess up the TOP 3 in the women’s section, while Adrien Bosson, Riccardo Marca and Yegor Popretinsky dance with their Idol’s for good TOP 10 and TOP 20 positions. The wave tour has always been regarded as the supreme discipline in windsurfing. Our SuperHeroes will face three events this year. We are very proud to see the living legend Victor Fernandez Lopez (E-42) constantly on 1st or 2nd place on the PWA wave tour for the past 4 years, and in the TOP 5 for more than 10 years now. His great experience and brilliant performance on the highest level make him candidate for the wave title year by year. Last years’ surprising 5th place for Adam Lewis (K-516) gives him the right motivation to impress the judges this year again. Will there even be a place on the podium for him? Alessio Stillrich (G-95) broke into the TOP 10 and then his leg. What a sad story! SuperDaddy Klaas Voget and SuperYoungGun Arthur Arutkin are going for TOP 20 positions. Even though the level in the top rankings is incredibly high, there are surprises every year. Our national riders and young guns will try to mess up the established fleet in every discipline and gain experience in the elite windsurfing world. All in all, we are very proud to support the best windsurfers in the world and excited for the new season. Let the sails fly!
