NWF Newsletter January 2018
Great News – The 12th National Watersports Festival opens its doors for online entry from 1st February!
And new for 2018, you will have the option of purchasing ‘Full Festival Experience’ Tickets or ‘Day Tickets’, which allow you to take part in all the NWF disciplines!
It is still possible to purchase entry specifically for Windsurfing or SUP, but we have made this change to reflect the fact that so many multi-disciplinary festival-goers wish to take part in more than one sport.
Welcome Back – The NWF Hoodie. Get Yours at a Discount NOW!
Premium quality NWF Hoodies are back for 2018!
NWF 2018 Hoodies are available to order at a discounted rate with your online entry. However, the facility to order your Hoodie online will end Friday 18th May 2018. There is no plan to sell NWF Hoodies at the Festival, so order yours NOW – or risk missing out!
New Disciplines for 2018! – Foiling & Dinghy Sailing
NWF 2018 will still feature the usual abundance of everyone who is anyone in the Windsurfing and SUP trade. As ever, you will be able to meet, chat, ask questions and demo the latest equipment.
Besides the numerous, free Windsurf, SUP and SCUBA clinics throughout the weekend, advice on Foiling will also be available. And for 2018, a contingent of the Dinghy trade is coming to join in the NWF fun!
NWF and The Rutland Festival Experience
The NWF remains the main driver for the weekend, however, to encourage additional local participation, the Rutland Festival Experience will run alongside. This will make the Festival even bigger and better than ever! There will be mouth-watering local food and produce stands as well as other local traders, celebrating the best of what the unique county of Rutland can offer.
In addition to live music throughout the day, the Rutland Festival will ensure that there is plenty of action throughout the day for everyone, both on and off the water!
Music Line Up for Friday and Saturday’s Parties
NWF sponsor, The Grainstore Brewery, is just about to finalise the music line up… Having supplied two sensational bands last year, we appreciate that they have set the bar very high and are fully committed as an NWF sponsor. So watch this space!
Free Watersports Taster Sessions
The free watersports taster sessions for 2018 will be co-ordinated by The RYA (Royal Yachting Association.)
The booking system will work a little differently for 2018; a link on the NWF website will allow you to log your interest in your choice of taster sessions. The RYA will then contact you to confirm timings and, depending on the session, suitable clothing and anything that you might need to bring.
A foiling clinic/demo is scheduled to take place on Friday afternoon.
Junior Skills Clinics & Cross Race
Building on the success of last year, The RYA is very excited to deliver and further develop their Junior Skills Clinic & Cross Race format at NWF 2018.
SUP
The new SUP format introduced last year was well received. And this year, we are pleased to report that the NWF SUP Team have been busy developing this aspect even further! The aim is to encourage participation from all abilities of paddlers. New Camping Zone Set Up
For 2018, we have also introduced a number of different camping zones, which have varying tariffs. This is driven by compliance with H&S regulations due to the increasing number of people wishing to camp.
