Each year, as well as the world’s best sailors competing for the respective world titles in slalom, freestyle and wave, the brands are also going head to head in the battle for the Constructors Title. In order to win the coveted title, each brand must perform to the absolute best of their ability cross all disciplines, which is no easy feat.
Last year NorthSails came out on top in the battle for the Sail Constructors Title and this year they have managed to retain that title in impressive fashion as they defeated their closest challenger - Severne Sails - by 3 points.
After winning the Sail Constructors Title for the second year in a row we caught up with NorthSails Sales and Marketing Manager - Alex Hasch - to find out what it means to come out on top again: “Proven Performance - Winning the PWA Constructor´s Title is not easy for a brand since you need to have very competitive products and riders in all 3 disciplines. But winning the title 2 years in a row is an unbelievable authentic proof for our brand performance in total. It shows impressively what you can achieve with relentless R&D work, combined with building up a national and international team of riders, who are not only winning and never stop providing product feedback but who are also highly appreciated and great characters in the windsurf circus. No matter if it’s our competition machine Victor Fernandez (Fanatic / NorthSails / Shamal Sunglasses), Adam Lewis (Fanatic / NorthSails / SWOX) who propelled himself impressively into the top 5 this year, Alessio Stillrich (Fanatic / NorthSails) also breaking through this year, the WarpBoyZ with Pierre Mortefon (Fanatic / NorthSails / Chopper Fins) sitting on the podium since years, Marco Lang (Fanatic / NorthSails) - hot shot of the season, who enthused with his Sylt win and backing up his performance jump in Noumea, Jordy Vonk (Fanatic / NorthSails) steadily improving and already in the limelight at Japan, Vincent Langer (Fanatic / NorthSails) who can be a serious overall podium contender if competing the whole tour, Adrien Bosson (Fanatic / NorthSails / Maui Ultra Fins) styling in the top 10 constantly and of course Gollito Estredo (Fanatic / NorthSails) the indisputable King of Freestyle. Impressive products - impressive team."
