With just a few days to go before the next installment of furious slalom now is the perfect time for the third episode from Windsurf girls, which shows the girls who get their kicks from slalom and racing.
The Women’s fleet will be returning to action for the first time since May for their penultimate battle of the season at the Waterz Festival Hvide Sande PWA World Cup (9th-14th September) and at the halfway stage it is reigning world champion - Sarah-Quita Offringa (Starboard / NeilPryde / Maui Ultra Fins) - who leads this year’s race after recording two first places in Korea and Japan, but things aren’t wrapped up yet with vice-world champion Lena Erdil (Starboard / Point-7) still in contention with a 2nd and 3rd place this season.
Also with a discard to come into play after New Caledonia there is still a chance for former 2-time world champion - Delphine Cousin Questel (Starboard / S2Maui) - to force her way back into the running if she can record a podium result in Denmark as that would then give her the opportunity to discard a disappointing 11th place finish in Japan, but there’s no room for error for the 26-year-old.
Windsurfgirls: “This is the third of the windsurfgirls series. The first 2 short clips featured some of the best women in the world shredding in waves and getting technical with freestyle.
This short edit features the women that get their adrenaline rush from blasting across the water on their slalom gear. As always our aim is to promote women in windsurfing and inspire other women to give this amazing sport a go.
Stay tuned for more videos.”
