Earlier this year, before the regular trade winds kicked in on Maui, there were not many days with nice wave sailing conditions. But there was one epic day of Kona winds and Jason Polakow KA-1111 and Robby Swift K-89 had an awesome session in Peahi – almost alone!

Jason states: “This was one of the best days I’ve had this year! Pure action at Lanes…”

Robby: “The launch off the rocks is the easy part. But the hard part is getting out through the channel because when the waves are so big the channel closes out and they cover the offshore wind and the current is so strong it pulls you either to Lanes or to hookipa…That day had a huge swell which doesn’t look quite as big in the video as it really was.”
