Amado Vrieswijk NB-20…came to Fuerte as the reigning event champion. Therefore the expectations were high that he would perform well. And NB-20 started into the single elimination with an amazing performance which stunned the spectators and took him all to the final and to finish 2nd.In the double, Yentel Caers was to be his challenger but could not compete due to injury. So it was again Gollito versus Vrieswijk in the final which is turning into the big rivalry in today’s freestyle as both sailors continually push each other.Amado sailed another scintillating final and landed some massive moves with backloops, pushloops, air chachoos, but was left counting a wet air kabikuchi and couldn’t quite land his super wild double air culo.Despite these efforts, the Bonairean couldn’t claim the first victory of the season. Amado finished 2nd !
..Yentel Caers B-16…lost his podium in the single elimination but fought his way back in the double! The young Belgian produced a couple of magnificent performances to firstly defeat his team mate Steven Van Broeckhoven B-72 in a heat almost too close to call. Afterwards he took revenge against Testa. However, that victory came at a serious cost.Thinking he had broken his leg when landing a shifty, the 22-year-old was forced to retire.Everyone wished Yentel a speedy and successful recovery.
Freestyle-Yentel: one-footed on the podium..Steven Van Broeckhoven B-72…started the single elimination with scores higher than 160 points. In the double he continued in similar form and defeted Frans, Van Eyken and Bosson but narrowly lost against his team mate, fellow country man and best buddy Yentel.
..Sam Esteve F-79…sailed a flawless event. In almost all his heats he scored about 140 points and for the first time in his career Sam made the top-10 in Fuerteventura.
