The Mercedes-Benz SUP World Cup in Germany out-sprinting an elite field of European and international stars to salute in the seaside town of Scharbeutz last weekend. Fanatic´s Arthur Arutkin finished 2nd in the Sprints and 3rd in the Long Distance Race, so 3rd overall. Well done there!
During the Sprints Arthur made the best of the buoy turns around the short, sharp course to claim the second step of the podium. At the Long Distance he was leading the race at certain stages, particularly on the downwind legs and had to settle for third, but that was more than enough to secure a spot on the overall podium. Arthur was clearly one of the in-form paddlers during the event, and he should carry a lot of confidence from his result looking ahead to the ISA Worlds in Denmark in two months’ time. Now off to Pozo for the PWA Windsurf Cup!
Also well done to the rest of our rider there – Christian Andersen, Paulina Herpel, Kai Steimer, Frederico Esposito, Davide Ionico and Valentin Illichmann!
MEN’S OVERALL: Champion: Connor Baxter (4 points) Runner-up: Lincoln Dews (5 points) 3rd: Arthur Arutkin (5 points) 4th: James Casey (10 points) 5th: Casper Steinfath (12 points)
