Manakai Swimwear is Maui’s only sustainable, ethical and USA made swimwear company. All swimwear is made out of 100% regenerated NYLON6 using top of the line fabrics from Italian owned company Carvico. We got the inside scoop of what they are up to and how they will be involved at the upcoming Butterfly Effect event on Maui.

We manifested an exotic high-fashion, low-impact brand to change the norm of the swimwear industry. Our goal is to honor the ocean, create unique designs and empower women to embrace their beauty.

In the community.

We are in the beginning stages of collecting ghost nets off the shores of Maui and in the surround waters here in Maui Nui. So far the last month we have successfully removed over 4,000 pounds of ghost nets thanks to contributors in the boating community. We have a goal of creating a NYLON 6 Rescue program here on Maui so these items do not get discarded into our very small landfills. Recycle and Reuse is our Moto!! Ocean Conservation is our top priority.

How will Manakai BE involved this year at The Butterfly Effect Maui?

‘This year we will be setting up a booth to educate the public about sustainable fashion, how our swimwear gets turned from ocean trash into luxe fabrics and make Manakai available for purchase for everyone. Our entire 2017 collection will be available for purchase.

We will also have our “Paint your BUTTERFLY with MANAKAI” board for participates to get creative and express themselves artistically.

Butterfly Participants can receive $10 off their order but will only be available to use this discount the day of the event.
