The National Watersports Festival (NWF) is the largest mass participation watersports event in the UK, with the core discipline being windsurfing. The festival has steadily grown over the years and now we soon to celebrate our 10th Anniversary on 2-4 Sept 2016 at Hayling Island. So here are 10 reasons why every Windsurfer should attend;

1. The largest national windsurfing event designed around the intermediate windsurfer, with its unique split of 20% newcomer, 70% intermediate and 10% Pro.

9. There is a separate Junior section; that’s right the NWF is not just for the adults, many of our emerging national stars started in the NWF Junior ranks many moons ago.

10. The atmosphere, that’s right us windsurfers love our sport either on or off the water, so there is a real community buzz in the air and this year we will have live music throughout the weekend. Plus our legendary parties on both Fri & Sat night and this year’s theme for Sat is pirates.

Format

There will be a series of master blaster races ( Beachstart out to a buoy and back to the beach) With 2 x fleets a National Fleet (Those who have raced on the national circuit) and freeride fleet (This is by far the biggest fleet and for those who have no national racing experience)

There will be prizes awarded after each race so you are not disadvantaged if you don’t do all the races.

There will also be freestyle competition with a night time element.
