Malte Reuscher GER-7777 reports about his successful weekend at the DWC in Sylt

The Summer Opening Sylt 2016 welcomed us with surprisingly great weather – everybody who has been there in the last year knows what I am talking about.Conditions were perfect for Formula racing and we managed to complete 11 formula races in 4 days. After long battles between Langer and my team mates Nico Prien and Sebastian Kornum I was able to take the 3rd place. I feel very happy about this podium position considering that I trained Formula only once this whole season!

Finally at the last day the wind became strong enough to start the game with slalom gear. That’s what I was waiting for – I knew I have to give 100%.My goal was to finish first, no other options. Fully focused, I rigged my stuff and went on the water. The wind was strong and gusty, so it was not easy to choose the right gear.I have to admit I felt satisfied after crossing the finish line in first position. Right behind me came Langer and my team mate Sebastian Kornum. Guys were fighting till the last moment! We tried to do more slalom races but the wind became lighter and lighter. For me the news was great!

I came back home with three trophies:* 1st in Slalom* 3rd in Formula* 2nd Overall

It was nice to be surrounded by my JP team mates: Big congratulations to all of them and especially the young JP guys from Denmark – I think that soon you will be my competitors!

Next stop will be the first PWA race in South Korea. You can follow me on my Facebook page and Twitter profile: Malte Reuscher
