DWC White Sands Festivals on Norderney: 3 JP riders take a podium!Leon Jamaer wins the Wave Riding – #1; Overall Nico Prien comes #2 and Dennis Müller #3!
Like a week before on Sylt, the DWC event in Norderney was blessed with wind. With up to 30 knots the island provided ideal conditions for all three disciplines – Formula (“Racing”), Slalom and Wave.
Day 1: SLALOM and FORMULA
The winds were suited for bigger equipment and two rounds were held in Slalom as well as in Formula. The race saw some though battles as can be seen in the photo below where 4 JP riders fight for the best position at the buoy:Nicolas Prien GER-7 is ahead of Bernd Flessner GER-16 and Dennis Müller G-89, then followed by Jan-Moritz Bochnia GER-9.
In the end these JP riders made a super strong appearance in SLALOM score sheets:#2 – Nicolas Prien – GER-7#3 – Dennis Müller – GER-89#4 – Bernd Flessner – GER-16 (#1 – Grand Master)#6 – Jan-Moritz Bochnia – GER-9
In Formula the situaltion looked similar, but this time it was Dennis Müller who was the better of the 2 JP riders.FORMULA:#3 – Dennis Müller – GER-89#4 – Nicolas Prien – GER-7#5 – Jan-Moritz Bochnia – GER-9
Slalom and Formula were the decisive disciplines for the OVERALL rankings:#2 – Nicolas Prien – GER-7#3 – Dennis Müller – GER-89#4 – Bernd Flessner – GER-16 (#1 – Grand Master)#5 – Jan-Moritz Bochnia – GER-9Worth mentioning is the consistency of Jens Möller GER-95 who finished #12 in Slalom, Formula and Overall.

Days 2 & 3: WAVE
The weekend was the time of the wave riders: With wave heights up to three meters and wind gusts over 30 knots, the participants in the discipline showed their skills. In the single elimination Leon Jamaer G-208 showed his whole skills pulling off two double loops, front loops and great wave riding. Thus, Leon takes the wave title of this DWC event in Norderney!
