Missing Freestyle Wave

Just packing for Cape Town but due to a school boy error in booking my flight I can’t fly with my favourite boards. I’ll save you the boring details of how I got there, the fact is I’m going with SAA and they don’t take anything over 2m and no matter how I try my Freestyle Waves wont fit in a bag that size. Sure I tried to cancel the flight, even asked Roberto if he really needs me there, “yes, and don’t forget you’re camera gear”.

Not sure How I’m going to cope, I haven’t travelled anywhere without them, doesn’t matter if it was flat water Vassiliki, hell Windy waves of Cape Town or any of beaches in the UK where I’ve woke in the van ready for an early sail. Actually if it wasn’t for the phone network taking the initials I’d simplify the “FSW” name with “EE” as I use them for Everything Everywhere.

The only thing I would change is the fin, not that the one they come with is bad, far from it. In Vassiliki or at my home spot of Point Clear I couldn’t ask for more, its only when the waves pick up I opt for another. If I’m out on my 106 I’ll pinch the fin from the 100 or even the 94, its only when in real waves I opt for a real 23 cm wave fin. That might sound like a stack of fins but if I can only take one board with me then with that option I can sail with 6.7 down to 4.2 in the flats or real waves, actually, if it wasn’t for my 23cm I would have never achieved one of the longest goals of winning in Tiree.

Ok, so I can’t take them with me but I can pick out my RRD Freestyle Wave moments.
