Text: Tony Mõttus EST-21Hi everybody,
This is my new video called “Tony Mac Windsurfing Vol.1”:vimeo.com/146249120 – Rock & Roll !
So, how was my season: It was in the beginning of May when I sent my latest report. It was just when I had recovered from my knee injury and I arrived on Fuerteventura for summer-training.
During the first two Fuerte months I was getting back my moves and already in the beginning of July I was starting a special preparation-training for the PWA World Cup. Together with martial art and fitness trainer Rainer Pfeifer, I had a very intense and scheduled plan on and off the water. Our goal was to go to the competition without having any hold-back from the past injury and to see in total, how the long run winter- and powerful pre-competition on-ground training will affect me on the water. And in general, I was looking forward to make a comeback to the competition scene.
Before the World Cup I was fit and ready to go. Still I felt quite a lot of pressure, as I was worried about my performance. I knew I had no new moves to show and that the rest of the guys were training new stuff all over the winter. But after the first heat the pressure went kind of down and in the next rounds I could perform at the top level I had at this moment. I had some close heats but I was not able to proceed. It was a disappointment for me but I had to remember that I had just come back from a long-time injury and that the goal was to compete without pain. In the end I was happy to sail together with all the guys again and to collect very valuable experiences for a better future.
For the rest of the 1.5 months Fuerte provided some excellent conditions and I found myself windsurfing for many days and hours. I could stick some new moves and I was filming footage for the upcoming video clip. Day by day I got more into a flow with my tricks and consistency. But still, I felt that would take me more time to rebuild my pre-injury form. So, I decided to skip the final event in Sylt and instead travel to a new destination for some more training. A trip to Tarifa came up as a great idea – close to Fuerte, easy to access etc. Hence, in the middle of September I flew to Malaga to head over to Tarifa.

It’s my first time here and I must say I really love it. There are many different spots and as the wind strength is changing from day to day, there is a possibility to use the whole sail range. I think it is very important to use the whole range and not to get stuck with one sail size for too long. So, I am happy how things are going here. I have had many water hours on both windsurfing and surfing.
Beginning of November I did with my base-training program for 3 weeks and from there on I will move back to higher intensity training till the new competition season in 2016.
I have to say that the gear has been working perfectly. I feel that I am riding the best equipment out there. I would like to thank you for that – for the support in this year and the years before. Without this I never would have got that far.
Looking forward to the future. Thanks!
With best regards,Tony MõttusEST-21
