Peter Volwater R.I.P 1975 – 2015

When I was first starting out in windsurfing there were 4 windsurfers I looked towards for inspiration and direction as I learned the basics. Ant Baker, Nik Baker, Bjorn Dunkerbeck and Peter Volwater. Peter’s sailing was the sailing I wanted to do – hard and fast.

So its with a heavy heart I find out today that Peter Volwater sadly passed away earlier today at the age of 40 – He recently had been battling depression. Born in the Netherlands he went Pro at the age of 17 and immediately made an impact on the PWA. Over the years he was always the guy sailing hard and partying hard. He sailed for F2, Fanatic, and more recently Starboard and Ka sails.
