Its been a New Year filled with windy days and big swell here on Maui. We've been blessed with many epic Hookipa days to finalize some up new equipment. On January 20, we got an XXL swell so Francisco Porcella, Rudy Castorina and myself teamed up on Rudy's ski and headed up to Jaws. We all got to sample some GIANT waves with one of us on the ski to make sure we were safe. At times we all played it safe dropping into these mountains, but at times the temptation to go deep resulted in Rudy and Francisco to pay the price of the West Bowl. It looked like a cartoon from the channel !!! With a serious test of equipment over, and everybody safe, we headed home. The adrenaline is still there two weeks later !
