Jamie Anderson is one of the most successful and progressive riders in snowboarding. In 2014 she won the Olympic Gold Medal in her main discipline of Slopestyle. Jamie is riding for GNU Snowboards, Monster Energy, Oakley, GoPro and Sierra at Tahoe
She’s sitting in front of me, has a beautiful smile, a heart of gold, and her charisma is …. hard to describe.. just amazing!
Although her days in the winter season are extremely busy, traveling around the world and competing, she still has time for a healthy, fit lifestyle and to take care of her projects.
We are here at the Burton European Opens in Laax, Swizterland and I got some Q &A’s..
Selina: Even if it’s a competition, there are so many good vibes up here. How does it feel to live in this huge family?Jaime: It feels good, everyone is progressive and pushing the level in snowboarding. I’m really enjoying it and it’s fun to see and feels really special to be a part of it.
Selina: You are constantly traveling around the world. What do you do to stay fit and healthy?Jamie: Sometimes I just have to rest. I have to go somewhere and take some time for myself. Now, I’m really tired and will take three days off and take care of myself, have some quite times, go snowboarding, eat healthy food, do yoga, go to the spa. It’s hard to stay positive while so much going on, planning, etc. It’s a lot on the mind and it’s so powerful, but I always have to go back to gratitude. How grateful I am to be able to snowboard and have the health to really inspire people?! Gratitude is key. It’s really important to have a body and mind in balance
Selina: Do you have any rituals to prepare yourself for your run just before you drop in?Jamie: Not really, just visuals
Selina: What advice would you give to your 15 year-old self?Jamie: It’s so important to trust ourselves, listen to our intuition and really know that everything we believe is possible.
