Upon a well timed return to Maui after months off island, the first signs of the new season are appearing. Today was the best day so far, with Hookipa dishing out a healthy helping of fresh NW swell and solid East wind. Its early October and the crowd is generally mellow, so of course there have been some sweet moments when it all comes together.  Along with Francisco Porcella and some of our local rippers we've all had several sessions to remember thus far. Flywave is continuing to impress and amaze me what its capable of, there is nothing that board won't do !! Its opening up new approaches on the wave and multiplying the fun factor while keeping mobile.
