The French sailor is ecstatic. He is celebrating a maiden world title, after watching Marcilio "Brawzinho" Browne defeat Victor Fernandez and putting an end to the Spanish hopes.
"Wow! I can't believe I am wave world champion! If I am, then Sophia Regerbis is the real world champion, together with my parents, my shaper, and all my friends who sailed at home or did trips and competitions with me!," expresses Traversa.
Thomas had a spectacular season. He won the Red Bull Storm Chase 2014 in gnarly conditions, before claiming the Jump category of the indoor contest in Poland and the Cold Hawaii World Cup.
The super final of the Aloha Classic 2014 had Thomas Traversa lined up against Morgan Noireaux. The newly crowned world champion displayed his vert turns and a goiter on the end section, but Noireaux had his trumps.
Morgan unleashed a radical taka to steal 8.48 points and, later, he would hammer the nails into the coffin on his final wave with a sick aerial and powerful turn, to defend his single elimination crown.
