With winds speeds ranging between 25-30 knots, rider knew they could easily improve their personal and national records. The day's best performance belonged to Anders Bringdal, who topped with 50.3 knots.

Remo Diethelm smashed the previous Swiss record (47.0 knots), initially with 47.62 knots, and later run with 48.31 knots. He proved he can reach the 50 knots.

Mark Grinnell sailed brilliantly and set a new South African windsurfing record by clocking at 49.92 knots.

Martin Tóth, from the Czech Republic, once again increased his own national record. He started the event with 44.63 knots, but he has already raised the bar at 46.73 knots.

Young gun Hans Kreisel, from Holland, showed he's got a future in speed sailing and got an excellent mark of 49.59 knots.

Hennie Bredenkamp (46.87 knots), Alain de Gendt (45.92 knots), and Erik Beale (46.29 knots) improved their personal best. Lena Erdil, the only female windsurfer in Luderitz, raced at 44.33 knots, only 1.5 knots short of the world record.

In the kiteboarding fleet, Sylvain Hoceini, achieved 51.5 knots. Sébastien Cattelan raced at 52.90 knots and grabbed the windsurfing kit to clock at 43.55 knots.
