Wow, what an event! Both the single and double elimination was run in some of the best conditions we have seen on tour for years. The wind was pumping throughout the whole event and delivered conditions for everything from my smallest to my biggest rig while the waves stayed consistently big during the whole event. Some incredible performances were made and we saw some big names getting knocked out already in the early rounds.
Unfortunately for me I did not quite perform to my usual standards which meant that even though I advanced into the second round in the single elimination I didn't manage to pull my act together in the double and finished with my worst result this year. I now know that I really have to put some focus on my high wind performance to do better in the next events and as the PWA crew starts packing up to move to Fuerteventura for the upcoming Slalom event, the stress and rush of this summers Wave events is starting to go away and I am going back into training-mode here in Tenerife to get the most out of the good conditions that are still pumping on the shores of El Medano...
Best regards
