MauiSails dominant at the Hawaii States titles
5th August 2014
The final event of the Maui Race series took place last Saturday with light and gusty trade winds filling the course around noon. It was the Neil Pryde State Championship.
Most sailors were on 6.3 to 7.0m sails and even then it wasn’t enough at times on the inside jibes. However the Titles were completed and even the Da Kine event which was postponed from a few weeks ago was run as well, at least in the age group catorgories.
The main event of the day, Mens pro, was won by Micah Buzianis taking his second State Title in a row. Phil McGain sailed consistent to place second in the Mens pro. Phil also won the mens 50-59 with all bullets.
Open Womens was controlled from the start by Tamara Bockius taking all bullets putting her stamp on another State title.
Other dominant MauiSails riders and their divisions. Congrats to all riders and see you next year.
