Cape Town Dec-Jan

Once again I am here in South Africa based for the winter months. It has been a month now and looking back has been a really great one, we’ve had lots of wind cycles but mostly decent swell. There has been a couple of stonking swells with quite a few spots closing out.

This is going to be a bit more of a photo based update as all i’ve basically been sailing as much as possible with not so many windsurfing pics. So here goes…

I’ve been living and traveling with Sam Neal, a young ripper from the UK. It’s really nice to see his sailing come on and pushing himself each day.

Right now he is sporting a bruise the size of a rugby ball after a 1 footed double push loop crash whilst trying to head out on his first run at Paternoster on his 3.7m. He confessed he didn’t even want to do a jump, was the best crash i’ve seen in years all the same.

I’m also traveling with Kenneth which is nothing new. Kenneth is who I travel with and train with the most on the tour, he rips and is a great training partner as long as it isn’t in the gym. This is a shot I took for his the new Simmer suits he is trying out.

Like I said, not much in the way of action. I’m flying back to the UK for a week unfortunately for the funeral of my grandmother but will be back again before the end of the month and traveling back out with Becky so I will have a lot more stuff then. There is talk of a safari too which I have never done and is on the East coast so will hopefully tie in going along with some sharky warm water point break action.

Thanks to Timo for the windsurfing photos!
