A total of 69 sailors from eight nations participated in the Kona One European Championship 2014, held in three race days. The conditions shifted from extreme light to strong and gusty winds.

Twenty-year-old Adam Holm displayed incredible sailing performances, winning five bullets out of eight races. His strongest opponent was his sister Andrea Holm, who finished runner-up.

"I am very happy. It's my first gold in the Europeans, and I value this highly. My racing has been very good throughout the weekend. It's been the most demanding and rewarding Kona Championship for me," explains Adam Holm.

"My main focus now is Rio 2016 in the RS:X Class. The result here at the Kona Europeans has given me extra energy that I will use for the rest of the season."

Kona One is currently one of the fastest growing windsurfing classes in the world. The one-type ISAF class offers identical boards, and men and women compete together. The same sail is used in all conditions and size according to weight.
