Our National Rider Andrea Mauro, win this weekend the Italialian Slalom Youth Championship at Torbole, on the beautiful lake Garda, read the interview realized from Francesco.

Ciao Andrea, complimenti per il titolo italiano appena conquistato!

Prima di tutto raccontaci un po' chi sei, da dove vieni e brevemente la tua carriera sino ad oggi:Ciao a tutti, sono Andre Mauro, ho appena compiuto 18 anni e vivo e mi alleno a Marina di grosseto. Quest anno ho un calendario ricco di regate, devo dire che la stagione è iniziata bene da subito al Garda con la prima Tappa dello slalom tour nonché trofeo neirotti concludendo con un 7° overall e 1° under 20. L italiano assoluto in sardegna mi ha penalizzato ha causa di una rottura della prolunga ai quarti di finale e di una partenza anticipata, finendo nel complesso 14° overall e 2° under 20.

Raccontaci come è andata:Dal Campionato in sardegna ne sono uscito motivato sapevo che dopo un mese avrei avuto il giovanile a Torbole e così mi sono allenato. Durante il primo giorno di regate ho notato da subito un trim perfetto, mi sentivo veloce e così è andata con 9 primi un secondo e un terzo.

Hai fatto tantissimi primi posti, è stata dura oppure hai sempre vinto con grande margine?Non è stata una passeggiata, gli avversari già gli conoscevo tutti. Il secondo giorno ho sbagliato durante la prima finale la partenza finenendo 3, gli avversari mi stavano sempre dietro aspettando un mio errore. Il vento non è mai mancato , ma mi piace essere sempre leggermente soprainvelato.

Che attrezzatura hai usato?Il materiale usato è stata la 8.6 point-7 ac-1 2014 con un 122 litri rrd v6 con 44 pinna Z, il secondo giorno avrei potuto aver usato anche la 7.9.

Quali sono le tue condizioni preferite?Le mie condizioni migliori sono con 105 rrd v6 e 7.9 Ac-1 point-7 con vento sui 20 nodi anche piu.

Ci sono sempre più ragazzi che fanno regate slalom. Cosa ti ha spinto a iniziare a regatare?E cos'è il windsurf per te?Mi sono avvicinato a questa disciplina ormai esausto di effettuare regate con poco vento, con 7 anni di techno 293 e 2 anni di classe olimpica mi sono buttato sullo slalom dove la velocita e il vento sono le caratteristiche dominanti.Fare wind surf non è solo uno sport ma uno stile di vita che ti allontana da certe situazioni, vivere il mare o nel caso il Lago aspetto la condizione è una soddisfazione unica.Le regate sono solo il riscontro dell allenamento fatto in casa, un momento di verifica che in qualsiasi esito mi da un idea di cosa posso migliorare e di cosa ho migliorato.

Le tue prossime regate?La prossima regata è fra pochi giorni a Latina per la seconda tappa dello slalom tour, darò il massimo confrontandomi anche con ragazzi più grandi , cercando di migliorare sempre di piu.

Well, first, tell something about you:Hi guys, I'm Andrea Mauro, I've just 18 years old and I live and train at Marina di Grosseto. This year I've a full racing calendar, this season was started very well, at lake Garda with the first event of the Italian Slalom Tour at Trofeo Neirotti and I placed 7th overall and 1st U20.At the Italian Grand Slam I've been penalized for a extension break, at the quarterfinals, and an OCS, and i finshed the event with an 14th overall and 2nd U20

Tell us about the event:I was very motivated after Sardinia Grand Slam, I focused on my target, after a month, The Italian Youth Slalom Championship and I trained me hard. During the first day on regatta I understand that I find a perfect trim and I felt me fast, I placed 1st 9 times, a 2nd and a 3rd.

You've done many first places, it was hard, or you've always won by a large margin?It was not a walk, all riders already knew them all. The second day I went wrong during the first final start and I finished 3rd, riders were always behind me waiting for my mistake. The wind has never failed, but I like to always be slightly overpower.

And your rig?I used for this Championship the AC-1 zero14 8.6, RRD X-Fire V6 122lt with Zfins 44cm, the second day I could use the AC-1 7.9 too.

What are your favorites conditions?My favourite condition is RRD X-Fire V6 105 and AC-1zero14 7.9 with 20 knots wind and more.

Many guys starting with slalom race, because you decide to start with racing? And what is windsurf for you?I start with this discipline after 7 years of T293 class and 2 years of Olimpic class and I was bored to have race in slow wind. I moved to slalom where the speed and high wind are the best features.Windsurf for me is not only a sport but a live style that moved you from bad situations, living the sea or in the case of the lake, waiting for the wind is a unique satisfaction.The regattas are only the check for the home train, a test time to find where I can improve me and was improved.

Your next appointment?My next appointment is in few days at Latina for the second event of the Italian Slalom Tour, I will give the maximum, comparing them with bigger guys, trying to improve more and more.
