First podium place on the PWA ever and the only guy who beat Kiri Thode the reigning world champion! How does that feel?

It feels great to be on the right track to achieve my goal, to become a top freestyle windsurfer. The only thing I could do on stage was smile and still being surprised to stand there. It felt strange to compete against Kiri, one of my best friends. We train a lot together besides making fun. It was a crazy heat; some speak about the heat of the event. And who doesn’t want to beat a world champion ??

What where your most 3 best moments during the PWA Bonaire.

1. The first one was actually already a few months ago when it got confirmed that the PWA would return to my home spot on Bonaire.
2. The second one was during my first final of a PWA-event ever against Gollito Estredo.
3. Hearing the result after my re-sail against Tonky Frans for 3rd and 4th place. Winning this heat made me third overall. Super happy !!

6th place on Bonaire to start the year, happy or did you want more?

I’m pretty happy with my result, of course I wanted more and I knew it was possible but in the end getting 6th isn’t bad especially if you see how high the level was! I sailed really good heats and only can say I didn’t show my best heat when it counted the most in the singles. Let’s hope I can do this more in the next events!

What where your most 3 best moments during the PWA Bonaire

- Winning against Bjorn Sarragoza in the first Double elimination after sailing my best heat of my life and making me advance into the top 8, I really had to sail good in this heat to have a good result and I did.
- Seeing Maaike getting second in the first double elimination after coming back from 7th place just amazing, especially as she is just 16 years old!
- The airkabi from Amado against Kiri, which made him advance into the final of the second single elimination! Bit a shame he didn’t win that elimination but well he did pretty good right?

Good start in the first double with a 17th place but an early exit in the second double stopped your hopes for a good result. How do you now look on to the upcoming events, will you go early to Fuerteventura to be more prepared?

Yes I will go earlier to train and to Lanzarote! I will be one month on the canaries!

What where your most 3 best moments during the PWA Bonaire?

- My best moment was when I had my best heat in my career so far! With 48 points... It's nice !!

- The other 2 are not that easy but I was happy for Amado when he won from Kiri! And when Maaike became 2nd the first double

The PWA wrote on day’s 3 report  „a new star emerged in the women’s fleet” indicating your second place during the first double. How does it make you feel to be second best woman in the world in Freestyle being only 16 years old?

What where your most 3 best moments during the PWA Bonaire?

-  The podium was the best moment of the PWA Bonaire!
- My heat against Arrianne in the first double elimination, best heat in PWA so far
- And sailing the final against Sarah-Quita was great!

You scored your first top 3 result ever in a single elimination on the PWA and your highest result till now on a PWA event. How was it to be on stage and does it taste for more on the next event?

Yes, I have only dreamed of getting a 3rd place this season. So for me this was a really nice day and I felt that I got more and more comfortable sailing heats, and with more competition training this season I hope to be able to climb up on the result list in the future. This PWA in Bonaire gave me a lot of motivation to train more for the competition and not only on the moves I really want to learn.

What where your most 3 best moments during the PWA Bonaire?

- 3rd in the single
- the day where I was really overpowered on 4.4 (what I like the most)
- the adrenaline you get when the green flag is up and your heat is on!
