Which is your favorite combination?
I mostly like my medium board with both 7.2 and 7.9, these combo’s are working great at the moment!

Which are normally your favorite conditions?
Powered up racing, so 15-25 knots!

Difference you appreciated from the AC-1 2013 to the AC-1 2014?
I feel the biggest differences in the rotation of the new sails and the power after the jibe. The new sails are incredible around the marks.

Which will be your first event this year?
Maybe there will be some national events in april, but I mostly focus on the first PWA in Korea starting on the 10th of may!

Fit your fin and board to your sail

Jean-Patrick van der Wolde

Which is your favourite combination?
My favourite combination untill now is the AC-1 2014- 7.9 and the 100 PD with a 36cm fin in 20+ knots.  A beast! The way the sails handle combined with the board and the fin is just flawless for me. This is why I expect some good results this year.

Difference you appreciated from the AC-1 2013 to the AC-1 2014?
I have not experienced the 2013 AC-1.  I experienced a whole new kind of racing. You know what they say.. "Once you go black, you never go back"!

Which will be your first event this year?
My first event should have been the PWA in Isla Margarita, but since that one is postponed I guess my first event would be one of the local ones here in the caribbean. I am planning some weekends in Aruba and Bonaire to train with the windsurfers there which also help's me improve a lot.

The most is the  camber rotation and acceleration with the new sail.

Which is your favourite combination?
Right now I would say that it is the AC-1 7,9 and my RRD X-fire 114L I feel really fast and comfortable on the setup, both when I'm racing and just out for training.

Which are normally your favourite conditions?
Because I'm sailing so much formula my favourite conditions are light wind I really like it when it gets physical and tactical -So in Slalom it is when we all are on 9,3 and big board (RRD X-fire 122L).

Difference you appreciated from the AC-1 2013 to the AC-1 2014?
I think it would be the design - this year the AC-1 2014 is really design to win!! Else I think it the stability and power  out of the jibe.

Which will be your first event this year?
I start off with the biggest event of the year! I will travel to Azores to sail both the Formula and the slalom IFCA worlds. So I hope I'm in the right shape to give it all at both events!

Which is your favourite combination?
I really like all of my equipment. But right now i feel really fast and compeditive on my 8,6 AC-1 and the 129 RRD X-Fire.

Which are normally your favourite conditions?
Most fun a have with 7,2 and 6,3 wih a lots of wind. But with the 8,6 and 9,3 i am much faster ;-)

Difference you appreciated from the AC-1 2013 to the AC-1 2014?
This is very hard to say for me, cause this is my first season on Black after 2 years.
I sailed with some of Albertos old sails and for sure the Rotation is soooo much better!

Which will be your first event this year?
The IFCA Slalom Worlds and the Formula Worlds in April on the Azores.

Which is your favourite combination?
7.2 and Patrik SL 115 v2 seems to be the one working very well for me at the moment, but it’s the one I was using the most so far, so maybe I’m just the most in tune with it!

Which are normally your favourite conditions?
For this we would have to separate favourite conditions from the conditions I do the best in. The first ones would be my small board and 5.6 fully fully powered up - the quintessence of slalom. The ones I do the best in was until now 8.6 and big board, but I’m feeling I’m getting better in racing the medium board lately. Apart from that and actually way above that my favourite conditions are logo high waves and side shore wind for 4.8, but I guess this is a slalom interview!

Difference you appreciated from the AC-1 2013 to the AC-1 2014?
Rotation, which straight away translates to acceleration out of the jibe. Directness and stability also struck me to have improved quite a bit and with them did the wind range.

Which will be your first event this year?
My first event will probably be the Formula Windsurfing World Championships in the Azores. A big one to start with, but I guess it’s the same for everyone!

Which is your favourite combination?
5.6 and the 89 with my 30 SL4 from 2007!
I also enjoy the 9.3 feeling when flies silently over the water..

Which are normally your favourite conditions?
I enjoy all conditions, as long as I'm on the water. I like when everyday is different.  I was second in 5.6 wind at the Defi and able to finish top 10 in the PWA  in Costa Brava where the wind was not over 12 knots the whole event. So favourite conditions for racing I guess it depends on how focused for racing I am in that day, but cerntainly I enjoy more  if I don't need to pump to get planning after the jibe.

Difference you appreciated from the AC-1 2013 to the AC-1 2014?
The increase in stability. The rotation. The final speed. The fact that you need one pump less to get planning.

Which will be your first event this year?
I would like to go to the Azores or Korea, but I guess my first event will be the Defi wind.
