Welsh super bank

Went down to Cornwall again for the weekend. No wind Saturday, but nice clean surf at Gwithian and Mexicos. Slept in van and up early Sunday, which was good as it meant I got out for the morning sail at Gwithian. It didn't look so good on paper -head high, dropping tide, light winds, but actually turned out to be loads of fun. Lots of the real locals out ripping. 88 Moo and 5.2 KS3 the perfect combo for light wind slashing until I got blown off the water and went in to change down. Then the wind dropped..
So figured I'd sit out low tide and go back out for when it got perfect again. As my board hit the water, the wind picked up a silly amount and swung bolt onshore so I called it a day.

Big decision then was what to do with Monday 24ft @ 19sec swell forecast (Gwenvor). I figured it would be too big for South coast Cornwall, though the NW wind would be fun at Maza.

Decided to score some epic surf with Jony Price in South Wales..

Cracking day. Thanks to Jony for taking the pics of the Welsh super bank when he got back in. I'd pretty much had enough of paddling against the tide by then too! We had it to ourselves.
Need a jetski or some wind next time!

Nice and glassy in the afternoon, and finished off with a great sunset. Best day in the Vale ever the local pro said.
