After Patrik Pollak's report earlier this week, here is the 2013 Raceboard World Champion's story. Max Wojcik conquered yet another title this year in Nove Mlyny, Czech Republic, finishing ahead of Patrik Pollak and Louis Morris and showing great skill in light winds. Here is what Max had to say about his victory:
"The 2013 Raceboard World Championships are over! We had a total of 11 races, with conditions ranging between 25-28 knots and 4-6 knots.
My question however is: what have I learned after this event? The facts are that the Top 5 were all using the Starboard Phantom Race 377. The rest of the competitors were using other older versions of the Starboard Phantom Race and I believe that says a lot about Starboard: they found the perfect balance between strong and light wind boards and us competitors, are more than happy to use it.

As for myself, I use a super light and slightly bigger dagger board made by Starboard, in my Phantom Race 377 for winds up to 12 knots. It gives me an advantage over all the other sailors using the regular, black dagger boards as it makes the board go up on the rail sooner, gives me a better angle when going upwind and weights less... That is my secret to win the world title, but... don't tell anyone! The rest is just practice... ;-)
See you next year! I know I'll definitely be there with Starboard!"
