Tyson Poor US-22 reports:
———————————————–
Just got back from an EPIC week down at Punta San Carlos, Baja Mexico!
It all started a couple of weeks ago when we heard of a good south swell that was about to hit Mexico and California. I was already headed down to Solosports Adventure Holidays, for a week long wave clinic, so I was stoked. A few friends from Maui heard about the swell and decided come join in the fun. Jake Miller, Bryan Metcalf-Perez, Casey Hauser, Nick Warmuth, Sarah Delaunay, and Wyatt Miller were all headed down for a week.
We all got a good warm-up on the first day with some smaller waves and cranking 4.2 wind. As the week went on, the wind and waves just kept firing! From Monday until Saturday, we got overhead to logo high waves, with some mast high, all day long. The wind didn’t pick up until around 11am, allowing for some good surfing and SUP with the crew. Got my new JP SUP 8’6″ Surf PRO two days before heading down, and have been loving it! Good 3 hour SUP sessions, followed by another 3 hours windsurfing session. By the end of the day, everyone was pretty spent.
After 6 straight days, the waves finally backed down, even though the wind was still going strong. We packed up the van with all the surfboards, SUP’s, and windsurfing gear, and headed back North to California. Couldn’t have asked for a better week of windsurfing out in the middle of nowhere with killer conditions, best friends, and a great host, Kevin Trejo at Solosports.
bye
