One of the UK’s top female student windsurfing talents Alex Powell has signed to Patrik. We took her on board towards the end of last year and now have some words and more from her.

Years Windsurfing: 6 years, but was fortunate to spend 6 weeks in Margarita 3 years ago during my Gap Year where I massively got hooked!

The first time I used my Patrik boards (78lr trailer wave and 90lr freestyle) was in my first ever heat of this years British Wave Association tour in Tiree. I ended up coming joint 5th, and I felt as if I had been using the board for years!  From the very first time I used the boards I have been truly amazed by their performance as ease of use.

Joining Patrik: Since becoming a team rider for Patrik, I have become a lot more focused and driven to improve my windsurfing.  I feel very proud to represent Patrik.

In five years I want to be:  Living in a nice warm and windy country! I am moving to Australia next July, so I intend to take full advantage of the opportunity and head to the West to massively push my windsurfing.  I also plan to compete in some of the Australian events, see how they go and then decide what happens next…

Most distinctive windsurfing moment: Planing for the first time; I was bang smack in the middle of a dinghy fleet, completely out of control and screaming my head off, but it was incredible and the experience has always stuck with me.
