With a waiting period from 9- March till the end of April everybody hoped that conditions will materialize and finally give the chance to numerous athletes to compete at Carro Wave Classic 2013, at the infamous wave spot of South France, Carro.
Windguru’s forecast for last weekend set everybody on call. It was way too promising. Actually the conditions were more hardcore than expected. Waves up to mast high and side shore wind gusting up to 50 knots were the main course of the second day. The unlucky ones were punished with a long swim after their kits and a 300m walk back from the rocks.
The contest attracted la crème de la crème of French wave riders, pros and amateurs alike. Names likes Traversa, Denel,(Dutch guest star) Volwater, Taboulet, Bourron, Sune, Reynes, Vigouroux, Puig, Million, Ramery, Eymard, Akgazciyan and Denel junior made the most out of the battling conditions and proved why tricolors are considered to be the best among the Europeans.
Inarguably Thomas Traversa was on another level and took the win at the end of the day. He was closely followed by Jules Denel, Julien Taboulet et Peter Volwater.
Since Sophia Regerbis lens was capturing the action we shall probably excpect a clip from the Carro Wave Classic 2013 to come out shortly. For now let’s better let the photos to tell the story!
Big ups to Jean-Baptiste Caste and to everyone else involved in 2013 Carro Wave Classic contest!
