With the totally uncrowded waters of Margarita playing host to our first Windwise trip of the year, it was a great pleasure to be in El Yaque.
With no direct flights, it meant that we were pretty much the only people at the windsurfing centre and we joined by only a handful of others out on the water. There were literally 20-25 people on the water at anyone time....A big contrast to the hectic pace of previous years. Out of the 13 days we were there, we had nine days of decent planing conditions. With the clients using a range of sails from 4.7-6.4m. As ever, it was great to spend the time with everyone and I feel we had great conditions and everyone made great use of your their time on the water. It's a perfect kick start to the season! So despite, a cracked rib, a dodgy tummy and the local carnival, we had a really great time and made some decent prgress, with faster, tidier better approaches to gybes, more consistent conrers, some duck gybes and some upwind 360's! Plus of course we had some stunning grub at Mobu's Pizza, Atti Hotel, Cafe Local & Jean Luc's great french eatery.
I very much look forward to seeing many of you on the water later in 2013!
Here's some shots from this years years contenders and some from previous trips to Margarita!
For those looking to escape the cooler UK weather, our next trip to Marsa Alam 6-13th March, has a cancellation place available!
