Simmer Style launches windsurf boards for the average windsurfer

Godzilla by Simmer Style: the user-friendly windsurf board

Forget professional windsurfing. Simmer Style has focused on the production of user-friendly windsurf boards with a simple concept in mind: "control equals speed".

"These boards aren't designed for a top 10 world cup rider, they are designed for the real world customer who wants a comfortable yet thrilling ride that enables them to push the limits in less than ideal conditions", the windsurfing brand explains.

The new partnership between Simmer and mXr has created boards which are easier to ride, at high speeds, and therefore faster for most riders. Two models have new boards - Monster and Godzilla.

The step hull design provides a more comfortable ride at high speeds and therefore allows a wider range of riders to excel. It is designed to absorb chop which effectively gives the rider added control even in open water.

"Monster is the step-hulled board concept that flies over chop as if it's not there. The board feels like it's loose and yet glued to the water when driving the sail full force in conditions which normally get scary", reveals Martin van Meurs, from mXr.

"Godzilla is the light wind brother of the Monster series. All adds to the feeling of comfort and trust the concept gives to the rider. The Godzilla can also be made blistering fast against smaller boards and can be ridden with fairly small sail sizes for its width", he adds.

The Monster GPS/Slalom board is available in two sizes: 230x66cm (100 litres) and 236x72cm (120 litres). The Godzilla GPS/Freerace board is available in one size: 240x85cm (150 litres).
