Andy Chambers: creative freestyler

The star of the British Freestyle windsurfing season has been Oscar Carmichael, a 16-year-old sailor who pushed Andy "Bubble" Chambers until the last minute.

Chambers was the best of the Pro Fleet, but narrowly missed the title, in a highly competitive division with nine windsurfers. Carmichael was runner-up, followed by Rick Cleworth in third place.

"It's been a great season, with good numbers attending the events. The level of competition has been very high and it's been fantastic to see such huge progress made by many of the participants. 2013 looks set to be a fantastic season", says Trevor Funnell, UKWA Freestyle director.

In the Under 20 category, Nic Hibdige powered to first place, Alex Mitchell came second and Charlie Jones took third. Jamie Howard blitzed the Unde 17 Fleet wining it ahead of Josh Sparks and Jed Davis.

In the Unde 15 division, competition was fierce, but Ike Bradley Baker sealed his victory at Weymouth taking first place, with Harry Davis coming in second and Lucas Meldrum in third.

In the Amateurs category, Kieran Roan blasted opponents Ollie Acton, Fraser Green and Jack Sawbridge. Danielle Lucas won first place in the Ladies Group with Emily Hall and Lara Johnson getting an equal second.
