Chris ‘Muzza’ Murray is one of the best ambassadors for the sport we have ever met with his endless enthusiasm and never ending search for action both on and off the water. We thought we would catch up with him at this years NWF and find out what makes him tick.

- Age? 24
- Current sponsors: Tushingham, Starboard, Franklin & Marshall, Adventure 001, Vibe energy gum
- Nomad / fixed abode? Nomad (and probably for the foreseeable future!)
- Years windsurfing? 12
- How did you first get into the sport? My dad showed me how to windsurf when I was 12.
- Favourite discipline? It has to be WAVE by far – I think the team relay showed I’m not really the course racing type!
- Competition discipline? wave
- Competition results? UK BWA no2 2010
- Favourite UK location? Gwithian down in Cornwall
- Favourite International destination? Maui – i have been the last couple of years and it is EPIC!
- Plans for the next year? Windsurf and have as much fun as possible!
- What are your ultimate ambitions you want to achieve in windsurfing? Be the best and have the most fun whilst doing it!
- Best kit set up? Tushingham Rock 4.5m and Starboard Quad 84ltr
- Favourite move? Goita by far (one handed if possible!)
- Best windsurfing moment? Riding massive waves in Hawaii
- What gives you the biggest buzz in windsurfing? Launching (and landing!) Massive aerial
- Have you ever thought about giving up? Never give up (unless you shoulders get a bit sore!!)
- How do you prepare before you go out on the water? Stick on a bit of drum and bass then just smash it!
- How do you plan your windsurfing sessions (ie what you do on the water)? I don’t really plan anything, I just tend to go with the flow
- Favourite food? BBQ! Cant beat it
- Drink of choice? Anything with rum
- Hardest move to crack? Flaka
- Top tips you can give to someone starting out? Go for it and if you fall off a lot, don’t worry, it just means that you’re learning.
- Other hobbies interests? Surf, SUP, wakeboarding, MTB, snowboarding, white water rafting, rock climbing, fishing, pretty much everything outdoors!
- Can you tell us something people might not know about you? I’ve started doing fun action holidays for people who want all adventure fun activities whilst on holiday in great locations.
- Describe your ideal session: Cross off, down the line with head high waves and 4.5m weather.
- Finally if you had never got into windsurfing what do you think you would be doing now? I would probably be bored working a real job!
