The local rider managed to clinch the title in front of his team colleague Alejandro Alcazar, during the launch of the new Andalucian training center, at Puerto Sherry, in the Bay of Cadiz.
In the first day of competition, the wind was blowing from the east. The "Levante" wind was blowing at 25-30 knots, with gusts of more than 30 knots.
"Many racers decided to stay in land, but still half of the fleet went out. From the start, I felt super fast reaching the upwind mark far away from the second rider, Marcos Iglesias", says Cerro Delgado.
"In the downwind, it was not that easy, but I managed to win the race. Victor Depoorter was second and Marcos was third. Alejandro was not so happy on the Slalom sail, but he managed to finish fourth place".
On the second and third days, winds were lighter. Fortunately, on the last day, race were on and Fernando MartÃnez finished in the lead to be declared the 2012 Spanish Formula Windsurfing champion.
