"With a few weeks summer holidays to spare and keen to avoid the Cornish traffic jams, my search for an adventure to a new place with August wind and waves, lead me Morocco. Cheap Ryan Air flights, easy carriage of sports kit, (if you follow the rules!) and a sleepy taxi ride from Marrakech and I made it to the Emerald City... or rather to the small fishing village of Sidi Kaouki and HSM Surf Club. Paradise!
The station is fully equipped with everything windsurfwise, surf and kitesurf as well as serving great food and being a great place to hangout (even watch the conditions in Cornwall online the odd homesick moment!) At times the waves seemed to have joined in the Ramadan festival but the wind certainly didn’t, fully powered on my 3.4 Firelight most days. It didn’t take long to get the hang of the wind from the right and when the spring high tides brought the waves we scored a few sessions of perfect down the line riding!
As always, local knowledge proved invaluable, as did Felix’s Landrover which was loaded up at a moments notice if there were good conditions to be had at a different beach. For me, when Sidi worked it was ideal, with easy access and lots of space. The well known spot, Moulay, proved rather a challenge for the problems I have with arm cramp but I conquered it third time lucky! Esssoira, just 20 minutes up the road, gave me my shopping fix on the rest days!

So I’d like to say a HUGE thank you to Felix and his crew, you all made this trip an amazing experience …I’ll will be back!!!" Debbie
