I know, before I write another word, that I am opening up a topic that stirs the passions (of some) - 'can of worms' I hear you say.

What I am hoping is that those Van owners out there might contribute to the knowledge base on the benefits of owning a van.

Some will prefer VWs over Mercedes and T5s over T4s

Some might be so rude as to mention Toyotas drive like pigs.

Others may say "you don't need a lwb" as boards are shorter now

What I am looking for is informed opinions from those of you who own or have owned, a Windsurfing van or similar.

What is it like? Do you use it as your only vehicle? How much do they cost to insure? What are the problems you've encountered? Where can i buy one cheap (rather than buy a cheap one) etc etc etc.

I quite expect (hope for) some humour as I hate to admit that I might be coming to the conclusion that a nice black (no not red!) lwb T4 is just what I need.

I suppose the ultimate question for some is one of 'image' and 'would the Hoff look good in a van?' Don't let the answer to that put you off!
